Montessori classes work in small mixed-age groups, and we take care to keep each group well balanced. We are happy to hear from families who are new to Lyon or to the French school system.
How it works
Get in touch
Email us at contact@montessori-gones.fr, call us on 07 82 93 97 84 or use the form below. Tell us a little about your child (first name, age, schooling so far) and what you are looking for.
Visit the school
We will arrange a time for you to see the Montessori environment and materials and to meet the teaching team. It is the perfect moment to ask any questions you have about the Montessori approach and how the school is organised.
Meet your child
[Depending on their age, your child is invited to spend some time in the classroom — a morning of observation — so that together we can make sure the environment is right for them.]
Complete your enrolment
Your child’s place is confirmed once we have received the completed application file and the registration fee.
Your application

- The completed and signed application form [downloadable here / handed to you at the visit]

- The photo consent form (optional)
Fees
Registration fee
€280
Annual tuition, sibling discounts and the part-time option for the youngest children (petite section, age 3) are set out on our Fees page.
Good to know
School hours
Drop-off on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 8:15 and 8:45 am, pick-up at 4:30 pm. After-school care from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. (As in most French schools, there is no school on Wednesdays.)
Status
Montessori’s Gones is a secular, independent (non-state-contracted) private school (école privée hors contrat), registered with the French education authorities. It receives no public funding, and its teachers are not paid by the State.
Compulsory schooling
In France, education is compulsory from the age of 3 — earlier than in many other countries. Enrolling your child at an independent school such as ours fully meets this legal requirement.
Joining mid-year
Possible, depending on availability — a common situation for families relocating to Lyon.
