Our team

At Montessori’s Gones, children are supported by a small, stable team trained in the Montessori approach at centres accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). Each class is led by a guide trained for that age group, supported by a Montessori assistant.

We come from varied backgrounds — adult training, architecture, early childhood — but we share the same conviction: to observe the child, respect their pace and prepare an environment in which they can learn by themselves.

Muriel GUELLIER

Muriel GUELLIER

Head of School and French-speaking Montessori guide, 3-6 and 6-12 years

After 15 years with a major assistance company, working as a trainer, medical assistance coordinator and planner, I changed careers in 2012.

Having been interested in so-called alternative approaches to education for many years, I chose the international Montessori training for the 3-6 age group at the Institut Supérieur Maria Montessori (ISMM) in Nogent-sur-Marne (94). The centre is accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and offers several recognised Montessori training courses.

As part of my training, I had the privilege of doing my teaching practice at the École d’application in Paris.

After helping to set up the Montessori school in Bergerac (24), I decided to create my own school. I fell for Lyon in 1992, when I worked at the Maison de l’enfance in Monplaisir, and ever since I had always wanted to settle here. By founding the École Montessori de la Croix-Rousse, I am weaving a new web from three threads that are precious to me: children, education and Lyon.

In 2021, driven by curiosity and a wish to enrich the teaching offered at the Children’s House, I enrolled in the two-year 6-12 training run by the Centre de Formation Montessori Francophonie (CFMF) in Collonges-sous-Salève (74), a Canadian centre accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). Completely won over by this second plane of development, I decided halfway through the course to open an elementary class, which launched in September 2022.

Having qualified in August 2023, I now teach the 6-12 class.

Jessy Puget

Jessy Puget

Montessori guide, 3-6 years (preschool)

Jessy worked as an architect for 20 years before changing careers in 2021. After training at the I.S.M.M. in Lyon, she worked with us at Montessori’s Gones from time to time, then supported our team during the first six weeks of the 2023 school year. She went on to work as a 3-6 guide at another Montessori school in Lyon, and then at a Montessori-inspired nursery with children aged 0-3. Jessy is now part of our big, wonderful family, looking after the preschool Gones.

Khadija FEILLEUX

Khadija FEILLEUX

Montessori assistant

I have been in France for just ten years. I landed in Lyon, and my first job was as a live-out nanny for several families, which is where I discovered the Montessori approach. It was a revelation for me and led me to pursue a career in education. I then seized the opportunity to join the Montessori’s Gones team in 2018 as a general assistant, looking after the canteen, the upkeep of the Children’s House and some craft and cooking activities. In 2021 I trained as a Montessori assistant at the Institut Supérieur Maria Montessori (ISMM) in Lyon, which means I now work as an assistant alongside the Gones and the guides.
